Shop Suffolk Spotlight: Niche Cocktails
We are delighted to introduce Niche Cocktails, a Melton based start-up shaking up the cocktails in a can market.
Tell us who Niche Cocktails are in a nutshell?
Niche Cocktails is a start-up business, established in 2019 in Melton. Born out of a passion to bring a higher quality of pre-mixed cocktails to the market, we have created our first range of premium classic cocktails in a can, with our own Niche twists. Our lowballers are the first short (150ml) cocktails in cans produced in the UK and they also include simple serving instructions to ensure your cocktails look as good as they taste. Made in Suffolk with all-natural ingredients and without compromise on the strength, our cocktails offer a quick and easy way to serve and enjoy a mixology standard cocktail in your own home. Our current range is Matcha Mojito, Blood Orange Old Fashioned and Manuka Honey Whisky Sour.
Why should we buy Niche Cocktails?
We are a small Suffolk company who are passionate about the quality of our products and about creating delicious drinks, with no compromise on the flavour. There’s no better time to buy local and no better time to try some new drinks at home!
How long have you been running?
We started setting up the business in March 2019 and launched our first products in February 2020 – so not long at all!
Where did the idea originate from?
The company was founded by Bob Scott from Stowmarket who, fresh from his European travels in retirement collecting exotic spirits, perfected the craft of mixology. He cameup with all sorts of concoctions for his friends and eventually started a business serving cocktails at parties and events. He decided he wanted to find a way to bring his drinks to more people so teamed up with Shout About Suffolk who have created a team and sourced investment to produce his cocktails in a can.
What do you love about Suffolk?
We love the outdoor lifestyle of Suffolk, whether being on the pebbly beaches, or gorse-filled heaths, there’s always a different beautiful spot to enjoy.
We also, of course, love the food & drink scene in Suffolk. There are so many unique and homegrown products born here and so many top-class pubs & restaurants to enjoy them in.
Our ethos is to share our love for Suffolk business. Who are your three favourite Suffolk businesses or brands?
Such a tricky one! But probably Easton White Horse (especially Chiusdays!), Bhajiman and The Cake Shop in Woodbridge.
